Your company has aggressive goals that every team member works hard to bring to market. And if you’re like 97% of executives who agree that establishing an international market presence is crucial to remaining competitive — you’ll inevitably need to hire, relocate, or acquire talent outside your headquarters.
In the past, navigating global employment and entity creation could mean:
- Spending significant budget and resources on consultants.
- Weeks, months, or even years stuck navigating international regulations.
- Staggering financial and legal fines for compliance missteps.
Many HR teams simply don’t have the expertise or resources to manage global employment, benefits, legislation, and customs specific to individual countries.
But now, G-P Gia makes it fast and easy to hire anyone, anywhere.
Introducing G-P Gia
The world’s first AI-based HR compliance advisor helps you compliantly manage the entire employee lifecycle in over 50 countries and all 50 U.S. states.
For over a decade, G-P has helped companies hire, onboard, and manage global teams in 180+ countries, without having to set up legal infrastructure in another country.
Along the way, we’ve built an unmatched, comprehensive global employment knowledge base. Trained on this proprietary knowledge and the expertise of hundreds of legal, HR, and tax experts, Gia gives you comprehensive, always up-to-date, nuanced HR advice across the employee lifecycle.
HR tasks once complex and costly to do, Gia does in seconds.
To dig deeper into the creation, development, and vision for G-P Gia, we sat down with our Founder and CEO, Nicole Sahin, and Chief Product and Strategy Officer, Nat Natarajan, for their insider insights.
Nicole Sahin and Nat Natarajan on G-P Gia and the future of AI
First, what inspired G-P Gia?
Sahin: When I started G-P and created the Employer of Record (EOR) industry more than a decade ago, my vision was to create a fast and easy way for companies to hire anyone, anywhere, by eliminating the need for companies to establish entities in another country before hiring their local talent.
We changed the way the world did business by launching an industry. Now, we’re doing it again by putting the best of the world’s global HR advisors at our clients’ fingertips.
When it comes to global HR matters, the complexity is vast, and accuracy is crucial. Customers need guidance they can trust, not only for the black-and-white law but also for the tactical way HR specialists get things done on the ground, country by country.
We developed G-P Gia with our proprietary knowledge base and deep expertise in AI to uniquely solve complex problems, mitigate risk, and reduce the need for HR organizations to depend on manual processes or external consultants — yet retain the human touch. Built for the next era of HR, Gia will forever change the future of work.
What is the most exciting way Gia will help HR professionals?
Natarajan: HR professionals have a tough job. They’re constantly trying to figure out how to get the talent they need on board and manage their global workforce without stepping on any compliance landmines while moving fast enough to help the business grow.
Managing global compliance is complex and requires expertise from legal, accounting, or external consultants to get answers. This costs thousands of dollars and days, if not weeks, of time to solve any given issue that may arise. Before G-P Gia, they had no choice but to wait (and pay) for those answers.
Gia doesn’t just improve productivity; it helps HR leaders sleep better at night with the confidence they are managing their global teams effectively and accurately, with the combined power of AI and the human touch of G-P’s HR teams.
Sahin: One use case is how Gia can take an employment contract in the U.S. and localize it for use in 50 states and 50 countries (and soon to be expanded to 180 countries) at the touch of a button. It does the same with employee handbooks.
I know from experience earlier in my career that the same scope of work would have taken at least six months to coordinate and a million dollars in legal fees. Removing the admin burden and stress of potential risks enables HR professionals to focus on more strategic work to help their company achieve aggressive goals faster and with fewer resources.
How does Gia navigate these critical yet complex challenges?
Sahin: Gia is grounded in the law and the practical way things get done in each jurisdiction.
For example, in some countries, there’s no way for an employer to terminate an employee relationship unilaterally. Yet, these situations arise. Gia takes into consideration the nuanced way that things actually get done in each country, including a step-by-step process, a guide and a drafting of emails and templates — all localized to each language.
Gia is built on our own data and the wisdom of our own team, which has spent over a decade supporting customers with global hiring, managing, and offboarding. There’s really no comparison for that kind of data.
What is unique about G-P Gia from an AI and product perspective?
Natarajan: Three things — our people, our data, and our vision.
In a market where many are content to simply use AI, we’re inventing it. Gia is more than an AI tool — it’s a breakthrough. We are pioneering the integration of LLMs with Knowledge Graphs to extract rules from unstructured text, ensuring we deliver accuracy and nuance while protecting against hallucinations.
Our experience in global employment, serving customers and employees for over a decade, has led to an incomparable knowledge base of compliance laws in 180+ countries. We knew that the combination of our over 10 years of transactional compliance data, human expertise, and our patent-pending AI technology are uniquely ours and cannot be replicated.
What goes into the behind-the-scenes of bringing AI like this to market?
Natarajan: Gia is a significant leap forward in the field of AI. I’m proud of how everyone at G-P has contributed towards bringing Gia to life.
From around the world, our expert HR, legal, finance, payroll, sales, CSM teams, and more have provided a constant feedback loop that has ensured our one-of-a-kind knowledge base is optimized to help our clients.
In all my experience, a perfect synergy like this doesn’t just happen. It’s unique. I’m most proud of our teams coming together to build it with the right inputs at the right time.
As early users have been using Gia, have there been any surprises?
Sahin: It’s not a surprise, but our customers quickly went from wanting advice to wanting Gia to draft, prepare, and review documents for them, create a handbook, create an employment contract, and more. Which is great — because Gia does all of that. Gia is more than an advisor; it’s a doer.
Natarajan: I was pleasantly surprised to experience how our sales team was able to immediately use Gia to help customers make more informed, confident decisions so quickly.
We’ve also had users ask, ‘Hey, Gia, can you help me prepare for my meeting with my legal counsel?’ It’s a question I didn’t expect, but it makes sense. A legal team’s time is precious. That’s why we’re building Gia on the core belief that our customers are our compass. With G-P Gia being the first of its kind, we will use insights from our customers to make Gia and the AI it’s built on better every day.
Gia is just getting started. What excites you most about the future?
Natarajan: 15 years ago, people wondered, ‘What would we do with the mobile phone? Does it boost productivity or take away too much time?’ Today, I would argue that everyone with a smartphone is more productive, capable, and informed about what’s happening around them. G-P Gia has a similar potential to boost the productivity of every professional worldwide.
Sahin: What’s most exciting is how there are no limits to what we can do with Gia. We are unifying the global workforce to maximize human potential. It’s the best of thinking global while acting local, and it empowers HR professionals to fulfill everything they need while making the most of every opportunity for their business.
