With over 25 years of experience in HR and recruiting, Teresa is passionate about developing and growing local workforces.

We sat down with Teresa to discuss the positive impacts of global hiring on both companies and people and how her work at AmbioPharm benefits not only local communities surrounding the corporate office but also global communities.

What has inspired you the most about AmbioPharm’s global growth journey so far? 

Teresa: “AmbioPharm’s global growth story and future are undoubtedly inspiring on several fronts. As an HR professional with a passion for workforce development and community impact, there are several aspects of AmbioPharm’s global expansion that excite me:

  • Creating opportunities: Global expansion means entering new markets and regions, which brings with it the opportunity to create jobs and develop talent internationally.
  • Cultural diversity and inclusion: AmbioPharm’s expansion allows for the integration of varied talents and experiences, fostering a culture of inclusivity and innovation within the company.
  • Impact on communities: Just as I emphasized the importance of community success being driven by its workforce, AmbioPharm’s global growth strategy includes initiatives to engage with and support local communities worldwide. This involves educational programs, job creation, and corporate social responsibility that empower and uplift communities globally.
  • Innovation and industry leadership: Being part of a company that is expanding globally signifies being at the forefront of innovation and leadership within the pharmaceutical industry. Are there any recent professional wins you’d like to share?

Teresa: “We recently were challenged with onboarding an employee in a region that we had never ventured into. 

I was able to reach out to G-P, and with the “Insights” section in the platform, I was able to share some specific information about this region that helped us in solving a staffing solution very quickly and effectively. 

In situations like this, where a wrong decision can create costly issues, we were delighted to get the answers we needed from G-P so we could pivot our bidding for business in that region.”

What advice would you offer executives or leaders who are looking to expand their hiring initiatives to new markets?

Teresa: “Expanding or hiring in new markets can be a transformative step for any organization. Here are some key pieces of advice on this journey:

  • Understand local talent dynamics: Before hiring in a new market, thoroughly research and understand the local talent pool, including skill availability, educational backgrounds, and cultural expectations regarding work.   • Recognize that recruitment practices that work well in one market may not be as effective in another: Adapt your recruitment strategies to align with local customs, job market dynamics, and legal requirements.

I have learned that each country has its own labor laws, regulations, and compliance requirements. It’s essential to familiarize yourself with these regulations and ensure that your hiring practices comply with local laws regarding employment contracts, benefits, taxation, and work permits for international hires. Having G-P to partner with has helped me with those efforts.”
